Magpies are known as scavengers and collectors of objects. In particular they have a weakness for shiny things. This exhibition is full of shiny things, specifically insects. There’s often a fine line between collecting and hoarding because when is a collection complete? There always seems to be one more piece that the collector needs and again and again this goal is adjusted to accommodate more and more objects.  A collection must be displayed because there is no glory if no one else sees it. In the end anyone who has ever had a collection knows that eventually you don’t own the collection, it owns you.  This exhibition explores shiny things and the eccentricities of collecting.
